How to Prepare Your Guest Room for Holiday Visitors
‘Tis the season for holiday guests. Have you prepared your guest room for visitors that plan on staying with you? Here are a few tips on how to create a welcoming and cozy room for your guests.
Cozy Linen
Make your bed extra plush and pile on the pillows and blankets. A holiday themed throw blanket at the end of the bed is a comfy and inviting accent to add to your guest bedroom.Â
Storage Space
You don’t need an entire dresser in your guest room, but a small area where they can store their luggage is a thoughtful gesture. Or if you have a dresser in the room, but it’s already filled with things, empty out a couple drawers for your guests, so they don’t have to live out of their suitcase. If you have a closet in the guest room, make some room and show your guests that they can hang their clothes in there.
A Vase of Fresh Flowers
A vase of fresh flowers on a bedside table is a lovely way to welcome your guests. Especially if your guests are friends or family you don’t see very often, include a kind note that says how thrilled you are for them to stay with you and celebrate the holidays together.Â
Travel Size Toiletries
Usually, your guests will most likely bring their own toiletries, but providing a nice hand lotion or a few travel size essentials – like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.- in the guest bathroom shows that you truly want them to feel at home. You can arrange the toiletries in a small woven basket with a couple of rolled up face towels and your guests will feel like they stepped into a luxury hotel.Â
Water Carafe
Nobody likes the feeling of waking up in the middle of night because they’re thirsty and wishing they had a fresh glass of water next to them. You can be one step ahead and provide a small water carafe and a clean glass or two on their bedside table. With these little thoughtful details, your guests may never want to leave.Â
